The vessel and shore excursions involve uneven historic stone, steps, and short boarding ramps; these features create moderate physical demand. Embarkation typically uses a gangway with 6 to 10 steps and handrails; some vessels provide a ramp on request but availability varies. Temple sites such as Karnak, Luxor Temple, Kom Ombo and the Valley of the Kings include steps and narrow passages, and many tombs require stooping and descending steep stairs. Wheelchair users should note that wheelchair access at archaeological sites is limited, and transfer assistance from the quay to the vessel may require a portable ramp and staff help. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and can arrange additional assistance, but complete step-free access cannot be guaranteed. Children 0 to 5.99 years travel free when sharing a cabin with two paying adults. Children 6 to 11.99 years pay 50% of the adult fare, while those 12 years and older pay the full adult price. One child may share a cabin with parents; two or more children require a separate cabin. Strollers are practical on-board but not recommended for archaeological sites with steps and uneven surfaces. We work with Egyptologists, local guides and suppliers who live in Luxor and Aswan, which channels passenger spending into those communities. Where available, crew and catering teams source produce from local markets and Nile-side farms. Single-use plastics are reduced on many vessels by providing filtered water stations; this practice varies by cruise line. Excursions run with groups capped at eight guests per Egyptologist, keeping commentary focused and the pace flexible. Onboard meals are full board, and evenings include Egyptian folkloric performances and relaxed time on deck. The itinerary also offers an optional Abu Simbel excursion from Aswan on disembarkation day.
