What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognize your browser and remember information about your visit.
How We Use Cookies
Discovery Tours Egypt uses cookies for two things only: keeping the site working, and understanding how it is used so we can improve it.
Cookies We Use
| Category | What it does | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keeps you signed in to your trip account and protects the site against automated abuse. The site cannot work without these, and they are set whatever you choose. | Session – 7 days |
| Analytics — Google Analytics | Counts visits and shows us which pages people actually read, in aggregate. IP addresses are anonymised. | Up to 24 months |
| Analytics — Microsoft Clarity | Records anonymised interactions — where people scroll, click and get stuck — so we can see which pages confuse rather than guessing. It is the most detailed thing we run, which is why we name it here rather than folding it into 'analytics'. | Up to 12 months |
Managing Your Consent
We do not show a cookie banner on this site, and we would rather tell you that than imply otherwise. Analytics cookies are set when you visit, which is standard practice for US websites. We do not use them to advertise to you and we do not sell your data to anyone. If you would prefer not to be measured at all, the browser settings below will block them, and nothing on the site stops working when you do.
Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working correctly.
