02Overview
A first look
Many Nile cruises finish in Luxor, and many flights home leave from Cairo. This short stay joins the two. You are taken from Luxor to the airport, and when you land in Cairo a driver meets you and takes you to your hotel for the night.
The next morning there is breakfast, and then a private transfer to Cairo Airport for your onward flight. There is no sightseeing on this stay, so it works as a rest between a busy cruise and a long journey home. You choose the standard of hotel when you book.
What lingers
- 01A private transfer from Luxor to Luxor Airport on day 1

Day by day
Detailed itinerary
2 Days / 1 Night · Luxor · Cairo · Cairo International Airport
- 1
A private vehicle takes you from downtown Luxor to Luxor Airport for your flight to Cairo. When you land at Cairo Airport, a representative meets you, helps with luggage and drives you to your hotel, about an hour away. The rest of the day is free. No meals are included.
This night in Cairo is deliberate: it is a safety window, so a delayed domestic flight does not cost you your international connection.
- 2
Have breakfast at your hotel and check out. A private vehicle takes you to Cairo Airport, allowing about 90 minutes for the journey and for check-in, with help from a transfer representative with your luggage. This is the end of the stay.

How we travel here
This stay uses private road transfers and one hotel night, and the vehicle type can vary, so we do not claim a carbon saving. A short stay in one hotel keeps movement low. We ask guests to use a refillable water bottle and to reuse hotel towels.

Asked & answered
Frequent questions
01Is the flight from Luxor to Cairo included?
This stay covers the transfers at both ends and the hotel night. The flight itself is not listed as part of it, so we confirm with you at booking whether it is included or needs to be booked separately.02Is there any sightseeing on this stay?
No. It is a rest stop between your cruise and your flight home. If you want to see the Giza Pyramids or the Grand Egyptian Museum, ask us about adding a day.03Which hotel will we have?
You choose a standard when you book, from budget to luxury, and we name the hotel for your dates.04Are meals included?
Breakfast on day 2 is included. There are no meals on day 1, so you can eat where you like in the evening.05How long is the transfer from Cairo Airport to the hotel?
About an hour, depending on traffic and which part of the city your hotel is in.06What is not included?
International flights, the Egypt visa, tips for drivers and staff, meals other than breakfast on day 2, and any sightseeing.07Can I stay more than one night?
Yes. Tell us how many nights you want and what you would like to see, and we will price a longer stay with guided days.08Will I make my international flight home?
Domestic and international tickets are separate bookings, so a delayed flight from Luxor can cost you the connection if you try to fly out the same day. That is why this stay builds in one night in Cairo as a safety window. If you must fly to Cairo and connect on the same day, choose a late-evening or night international flight, and take travel insurance that covers missed connections.
