This cruise involves boarding by gangway at the embarkation port, moving between decks by stairs, and walking on uneven quayside surfaces at some landing points. Shore excursions include surfaced paths, stepped temple entrances, exposed stone ramps and uneven tomb floors; some tombs at the Valley of the Kings have steep, narrow staircases. Wheelchair users should note that most Nile cruisers have limited lift access and cabin door widths may not suit all wheelchairs. Embarkation and disembarkation assistance is available on request, but advanced notice is required so we can arrange appropriate equipment and staff. Please contact us with details of mobility needs before booking so we can advise which cabins and excursions are feasible.

How we travel here
The vessel typically uses modern diesel-powered river cruise boats, with shore transfers provided by air-conditioned minibuses hired from local suppliers. We work with the same small fleet of drivers and Egyptologists in Upper Egypt to concentrate economic benefit locally and reduce unnecessary supplier turnover. On board, single-use plastics are discouraged. Excursion schedules are planned to avoid repeat visits to the same local communities on consecutive sailings, reducing pressure on fragile sites. We encourage guests to bring refillable water bottles and to leave personal tips for guides and crew at the end of the cruise rather than in public areas.

Children 0–5.99 years travel free; children 6–11.99 years pay 50% of the adult fare; children aged 12 and above pay the full adult price. Children must share a cabin with their parents, maximum one child per cabin; two or more children require their own cabin. Strollers are practical for excursions with flat pavements but can be difficult on uneven temple approaches and inside tombs. Cruise cabins do not always have space for travel cots, so please request cot availability at booking; high chairs are provided on some vessels but cannot be guaranteed for every sailing.

Choose the 4-day, 3-night Aswan to Luxor sailing that departs Fridays, or the 5-day, 4-night Luxor to Aswan sailing that departs Mondays. We arrange all guided excursions with an English-speaking Egyptologist, meet and assist on arrival and departure, and small-group tours limited to eight participants. Onboard facilities include a sundeck with a swimming pool, a panorama bar, a restaurant, nightly entertainment, and WiFi in public areas. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator, and we do not run large coach groups, so shore visits aim for quieter access and more time at each temple. Optional excursions to Abu Simbel can be arranged from Aswan.

Sail the Nile for four days aboard MS Royal Beau Rivage with private Egyptologist-led shore visits and door-to-door transfers arranged by our licensed Egyptian tour operator. We do not run group-bus shore excursions; our Egyptologists lead private visits, and where scheduled we visit temples such as Kom Ombo and Edfu. Unlike packaged day trips from cruise ports, a four-day schedule compresses onshore time; we recommend adding nights in Luxor or Aswan to explore the West Bank or Philae at leisure. Expect compact cabins compared with land hotels, early starts, and walking on uneven ancient stone. Standard temple entrance fees are normally included; premium tombs and pyramid interiors are extra.
