02Overview

A first look

Steigenberger Omar El Khayam is a 5-star cruise ship sailing Lake Nasser, the vast reservoir behind the Aswan High Dam — a stretch of Nubia most vacationers never see. Between Aswan and Abu Simbel the ship calls at temples rescued from the rising lake in the 1960s: Kalabsha, Wadi El Seboua, Amada, and the clifftop fortress of Kasr Ibrim, finishing beneath the colossi of Abu Simbel themselves.

Sailings follow the classic lake pattern: 4 nights from Aswan on Mondays and 3 nights from Abu Simbel on Fridays. Cabins and rates are confirmed on request — tell us your dates and we will check availability directly with the operator.

Mövenpick Prince Abbas Lake Cruise, day cruise on Lake Nasser

A one-day cruise aboard the Mövenpick Prince Abbas on Lake Nasser, operating from Aswan and serving the Abu Simbel corridor. We arrange the cruise logistics, local crew and onboard meals, as a licensed Egyptian tour operator. We do not run mass coach transfers; our transfers are private or small-group, timed to minimise waiting at the pier. Unlike coach-run shore excursions, this cruise gives a slower pace on the lake and direct access to Abu Simbel by boat or tender depending on the itinerary.

Nubian Sea Lake Nasser Cruise

Aboard the Nubian Sea, this four-day cruise sails Lake Nasser from Aswan to Abu Simbel, visiting Kalabsha, Wadi El-Seboua, Amada, and Derr. Your Discovery Tours Egypt representative meets you on arrival in Aswan, and our Egyptologists lead all scheduled shore visits. We avoid rushed coach-drop visits, which gives you longer guided time at each temple than many day-trip schedules allow. Full-board meals and accommodation onboard are included, along with all scheduled sightseeing with our Egyptologists. Evenings are spent on the lake, so you reach remote sites at quieter times of day. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator; contact us for cabin arrangements and timing details before you travel.

A Sara Nile Cruise

A Sara is a Nile cruise operating between Luxor and Aswan, calling at Kom Ombo, Edfu, Luxor West Bank, and Aswan. The route groups short, focused visits so you step ashore for temple quays and return to a calm river mooring each evening. Guided highlights include Kom Ombo's double temple, Edfu's Ptolemaic temple, and Luxor West Bank, where the Valley of the Kings sits alongside Hatshepsut's mortuary temple. An optional Abu Simbel transfer can be added on the Aswan leg. We run these cruises with very small groups, which keeps landings flexible and reduces time spent queuing at sites. Unlike mass-market overnight cruise programs, this itinerary pauses at Edfu and Kom Ombo long enough for proper visits. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and our Egyptologists lead the guided visits.
