02Overview
A first look
Traveling alone in Egypt is easier when the logistics are handled. This nine-day plan is built for women on their own: you are met at the airport, your transfers are private, and an Egyptologist leads each sightseeing day, so you do not have to arrange anything on the spot.
You begin in Cairo with the Pyramids Sound and Light Show, then spend a full day with a guide at the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. A flight takes you to Hurghada on the Red Sea for two nights and a free day. Then a five-hour private drive takes you to Luxor for Karnak and Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, and continue to Aswan for the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and Philae. A flight back to Cairo brings an afternoon in Islamic Cairo before you leave. You choose the hotel standard when you book.

Day by day
Detailed itinerary
9 Days / 8 Nights · Cairo · Giza · Hurghada · Luxor · Edfu · Kom Ombo
- 1
A representative meets you in the arrivals hall at Cairo Airport and takes you to your hotel. Rest after your flight. In the evening a private air-conditioned vehicle takes you to the Giza Plateau for the Pyramids Sound and Light Show, with the ticket included, and brings you back to your hotel afterwards. Our team coordinates on the ground. Dinner is not included.
- 2
A full day with your English-speaking Egyptologist guide, about eight hours in all. You start at the Giza Pyramids complex and the Great Sphinx. After a drive across the city you have lunch at a local restaurant, then visit the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square. A coffee or tea break comes before the ride back.
The guide, the entrance fees and the private air-conditioned transport are included, with pickup and drop-off at your hotel.
- 3
A transfer takes you to Cairo Airport for the flight to Hurghada, about an hour. A driver meets you and takes you to your hotel on the Red Sea. The rest of the day is free: settle in, swim or rest. No sightseeing is planned.
- 4
Nothing is scheduled today. Swim, read by the pool or walk along the shore. If you want to add a boat trip, snorkeling or a spa visit, ask us and we will quote it. Your hotel breakfast is included.
- 5
A private, air-conditioned vehicle takes you from Hurghada to Luxor, about five hours by road. Then your Egyptologist shows you the East Bank: Karnak, the largest temple complex in Egypt, and Luxor Temple beside the river. The guide, the entrance fees and the transport between sites are included. It is a long day. Lunch is not included today.
- 6
With your Egyptologist you cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings, where three tombs are included, Hatshepsut's temple and the Colossi of Memnon. The guide, the entrance fees and the transport are included. After the sightseeing a private vehicle takes you by road from your Luxor hotel to your hotel in Aswan.
- 7
A full day in Aswan with a local Egyptologist. You visit the Aswan High Dam and the northern quarries with the Unfinished Obelisk, then take a short motorboat ride to Agilkia Island for Philae, the temple of Isis, with refreshments on the island terrace. The guide, the entrance fees and the air-conditioned transport from your hotel are included.
- 8
A transfer takes you to Aswan Airport for the flight to Cairo, where a driver meets you and takes you to your hotel. In the afternoon an Egyptologist takes you to the Citadel of Saladin and the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, through Islamic Cairo and into the Khan el-Khalili bazaar. The guide, the entrance fees and the private vehicle are included.
The sightseeing is arranged around the airline's flight time. This is your last night in Cairo.
- 9
Have breakfast at your hotel and check out. A private transfer takes you to Cairo Airport, allowing about 90 minutes for the drive. Staying the last night in Cairo gives a safety window if the domestic flight on day 8 runs late, so you reach your international flight calmly.

Field notes
From our Egyptologists
- 01
For the Giza Plateau, go early, before the strongest sun and bus arrivals.
- 02
In Luxor, the west bank monuments photograph best soon after opening.
- 03
Carry small cash for restrooms and bottled water at busy sites.
- 04
Khan El Khalili is calmer before sunset than after dinner.
- 05
Ask for a room away from Hurghada promenade noise if you sleep lightly.

Make it yours
Choose your hotel standard when you book. Ask us about a female guide, extra nights in Hurghada, a Red Sea boat trip, Abu Simbel or a Nile cruise.

Suited to
Is this for you?
Yes, if
- Women traveling alone who want Egypt's major sites, a rest by the sea and the planning handled. Suited to first-time visitors who are comfortable with two flights, two long drives and several hours of walking on sightseeing days.

- Travelers who need step-free access to every site, or who dislike long road transfers. Days 5 and 6 are long.

Things to Consider
- Days 5 and 6 include long road transfers
- Uneven stone, steps and little shade at the major sites

A good fit if you are traveling alone and want the major sites with the logistics handled. If you want a Nile cruise or Abu Simbel, choose a different tour.
Worth knowing
How this compares
Many operators sell Cairo, a beach stay, Luxor and Aswan as separate trips. This tour joins them in nine days with both flights, airport meetings and private transfers booked for you, and ends with a night in Cairo so a late domestic flight does not threaten your flight home.

Children & families
This itinerary is planned for adult travelers, but children are welcome. Every child takes a seat in the vehicle, so transport and guiding are charged at the adult rate at any age. Entrance tickets are free for children under 6 and full price from 6. Hotel prices depend on the child's age and the room used, so we give you the exact figure when you tell us the age at booking. The long road days are tiring for young children.
Accessibility
Who can join this
This tour involves a lot of walking on large archaeological sites, with uneven stone, sand, steps and some narrow tomb passages. The Valley of the Kings and Karnak have long outdoor stretches with little shade. Visiting Philae involves a short boat crossing and steps. Day 5 includes a five-hour road transfer and day 6 a road transfer from Luxor to Aswan. Vehicles are air-conditioned, but we cannot promise wheelchair access at every site. Tell us your needs when you book and we will tell you honestly which parts are suitable.
– Responsible travel
How we travel here
The itinerary uses two domestic flights and long private road transfers, and the vehicle type can vary, so we do not claim a carbon saving. Sightseeing is guided by local Egyptologists and arranged through local suppliers in Cairo, Hurghada, Luxor and Aswan, so most of the money you spend stays in the places you visit. We ask guests to bring a refillable water bottle and not to touch painted walls in tombs.

Asked & answered
Frequent questions
01Is this tour suitable for a woman traveling alone?
It is planned for that. You are met at the airport, transfers are private, an Egyptologist leads each sightseeing day, and day 4 is free. Tell us your preferences when you book, such as a female guide, and we will say what we can arrange.02Are the domestic flights included?
Yes. The flights from Cairo to Hurghada on day 3 and from Aswan to Cairo on day 8 are booked for you and included in the price. Between Hurghada, Luxor and Aswan you travel by private road transfer. International flights are not included.03Will I make my international flight?
Domestic and international tickets are separate bookings, so a delayed domestic flight can cost you the connection. That is why this tour ends with a night in Cairo before you leave. If you ever fly to Cairo and connect on the same day, choose a late-evening or night international flight, and take travel insurance that covers missed connections.04How long are the drives?
Hurghada to Luxor on day 5 is about five hours. Luxor to Aswan on day 6 is also a road transfer, after the West Bank sightseeing. Both are in private air-conditioned vehicles.05What is the Pyramids Sound and Light Show?
An evening show at the Giza Plateau with the pyramids and the Sphinx lit and narrated. The ticket and a private round-trip transfer from your hotel are included on day 1.06What do I do on the free day?
Day 4 in Hurghada is free. You can swim and rest, or we can quote a boat trip or other activity. None is included.07Which hotels will we have?
You choose a standard when you book, from budget to luxury, and we name the hotels for your dates. There are eight hotel nights with breakfast: three in Cairo, two in Hurghada, one in Luxor and two in Aswan. The sightseeing is the same at every standard.08What is not included?
International flights, the Egypt visa, tips for guides and drivers, dinners, drinks, lunch on days 3, 4 and 5, the interior of the Khufu pyramid, premium tombs such as Tutankhamun's, and travel insurance.
