Private car on the desert highway takes around two and a half hours. We book the driver from your Cairo hotel door to your Alexandria check-in. No public bus transfers.
Airport transfers
Alexandria Borg El Arab (HBE) is 45 km south-west of the city center – allow an hour. We arrange a private meet-and-greet and vehicle. Cairo airport (CAI) works fine if you're combining both cities.
Best time to visit
April–June and September–October are ideal: warm Mediterranean weather, lower humidity than Cairo, and manageable crowds. July–August is the Egyptian summer holiday season – the city fills up and hotel prices rise.
