02Overview

A first look

This is a private 10-hour day that follows the Nile north from Aswan. A driver collects you at 06:30 from your hotel or cruise boat, and about an hour later you reach Kom Ombo. After that you continue to Edfu, have lunch, and finish at Esna, where the Temple of Khnum has a ceiling that has been cleaned and restored. You then choose how to end the day. If you finish in Luxor, the drop-off is about one hour after Esna, and your luggage travels with you in the vehicle. If you return to Aswan, the drive from Esna takes about three hours. Because the trip is private, you can ask for more time at the temples you like. We send your request to our team, who confirm availability and the final price before you pay anything.

Asked & answered

Frequent questions

  1. 01How is this private trip priced?
The price is per person, and it falls as the group grows, because the vehicle, driver and guide are shared. It covers the transfers, the Egyptologist, the three entrance tickets and lunch. The final price is confirmed by our team once we know your group size, your ending and the children's ages.
  2. 02How do I book this trip?
You send us a request with your date, group size, where you are staying and whether you want to finish in Luxor or Aswan. Our team checks availability and confirms the final price with you. You do not pay anything until that is agreed.
  3. 03Should I finish in Luxor or return to Aswan?
Finish in Luxor if your trip continues there, because it saves a separate transfer. The drop-off is about one hour after Esna, and your luggage travels with you in the vehicle. Return to Aswan if you are staying there, and expect about three hours of driving from Esna.
  4. 04How long are the drives?
About one hour from Aswan to Kom Ombo, then up to two hours on to Edfu, and about an hour to Esna. After Esna, the drive is about one hour to Luxor or about three hours back to Aswan.
  5. 05What is the cancellation policy?
More than 72 hours ahead, keep 100% as credit toward future travel or take a 100% refund, less bank charges. Between 72 and 24 hours, keep 100% as credit or take a 50% refund. Within 24 hours, or if you don't show up, there is no refund or credit. If we have to cancel, you lose nothing.
  6. 06Is this trip private, or will others join us?
It is private. Only your own party rides in the vehicle, and the Egyptologist guides only you. The maximum party is 12 people, and you can ask the guide to spend longer at the temples you enjoy most.

Aswan: High Dam, Philae Temple & Unfinished Obelisk Day Tour

This full-day Aswan tour visits the Aswan High Dam, Philae Temple on Agilkia Island, and the Unfinished Obelisk. The Aswan High Dam was completed in 1970. Philae was relocated to Agilkia Island during the 1970s Nubia salvage project. As a licensed Egyptian tour operator we provide hotel pickup, a licensed Egyptologist, lunch, and all standard site entrance fees. We schedule the Philae visit early to avoid the mid-morning tourist boats; unlike many cruise shore excursions, we keep timing flexible so you can photograph and ask questions. Expect walking on uneven ancient stone and limited shade at Philae; bring sun protection and comfortable shoes.

A full-day, return flight from Aswan to Abu Simbel with a guided visit to the Great Temple of Ramesses II and the Small Temple of Nefertari. You fly from Aswan International Airport (ASW) to Abu Simbel Airport (ABS), flight time about 40 to 50 minutes. We favour the flight option because road transfers take about three hours each way, which reduces time at the temples.
