02Overview
A first look
This is a short desert ride for guests who want some fun and fresh air before the heat of the day. A shared vehicle picks you up at 08:00 and takes you to the quad base. The guide gives a safety briefing and a practice ride. Then the group rides for about an hour and a half across open sand, low dunes and dry valley tracks. You pull in for tea with a Bedouin family and a chance to talk, before riding back to base. You reach your hotel again by about 12:00. No riding experience is needed, but you must be able to hold the handlebars firmly.

Detailed itinerary
- 1
The vehicle collects you at 08:00 from hotels between Marsa Alam town and Port Ghalib. Wear closed shoes and long trousers if you have them.
- 2
At the base the guide shows you the throttle, brake and gears. You try a practice lap in a flat area. If you feel unsure, tell the guide. Riding a shared quad is an option too.
- 3
The group rides in a line behind the guide, over sand, small dunes and dry wadi tracks. Dust is part of the day, which is why scarves are provided. The pace follows the least experienced rider.
- 4
The ride ends at a Bedouin home where tea is served. It is a chance to sit, rest and ask questions about desert life with the guide translating. Keep photos polite and ask first.
- 5
A short ride brings the group back to base. Hand in your helmet and scarf and shake off the dust. The guide checks that everyone is well.
- 6
The vehicle takes you back to your hotel at about 12:00. Lunch is not included, so plan to eat at the resort. A shower is probably your first stop.

Frequent questions
01How is this quad safari priced?
The price is per person for a shared group of up to 16. It covers the transfers, the helmet, the guide and the tea. Children under 2 are free and ages 2 to 11 pay half on the shared vehicle. Our team confirms details after your request.02Do I need to have ridden a quad before?
No. The guide teaches the controls and watches the practice lap before the group heads out. If you feel unsure, you can ride as a passenger with another person. The pace is easy and slows for beginners.03Is it suitable for children?
Children can ride as passengers with an adult, if the guide allows. Very young children are not suited, because of the dust and the bumps. Ask us about age and size limits before you send a request.04What should I wear?
Wear closed shoes, long trousers or leggings and a top you do not mind getting dusty. Sunglasses are very useful. A scarf and helmet are provided. Keep valuables at the hotel or in a zipped pocket.05Can I cancel if my plans change?
More than 72 hours ahead, keep 100% as credit toward future travel or take a 100% refund, less bank charges. Between 72 and 24 hours, keep 100% as credit or take a 50% refund. Within 24 hours, or if you don't show up, there is no refund or credit. If we have to cancel, you lose nothing.06Is the ride shared with strangers?
Yes. Up to 16 guests share the vehicle and ride together behind one guide. You stay in the group's line on the quad. If you want a ride just for your party, ask our team about a private option.
