02Overview
A first look
This is a beach week with a reason to get on the water. You land at Sharm El Sheikh, settle into your hotel, and then take one outing a day. Each one is about the sea: a yacht day at Ras Mohammed, two guided intro dives, a boat day around Tiran Island and a ride in a semi-submarine. The last outing is a short city tour, so you see the town as well as the reef.
The pace is simple. Every day after you arrive is one excursion, then the rest of the day is yours for the pool, the beach or a long lunch. We handle the airport pick-up, the hotel nights, the excursions and the ride back to the airport. You choose the hotel standard when you book, from budget to luxury, and the excursions stay the same.

Day by day
Detailed itinerary
7 Days / 6 Nights · Sharm El Sheikh · Ras Mohammed National Park · Tiran Island · Old Market · Al Sahaba Mosque · SOHO Square
- 1
A representative is waiting at Sharm El Sheikh Airport to greet you and help with your bags. A private vehicle then takes you straight to your hotel. Nothing else is planned, so the evening is yours to unpack, swim and have dinner wherever you like.
- 2
After breakfast you are collected from your hotel and taken to the yacht for eight hours at Ras Mohammed, the national park at the tip of the Sinai peninsula. The crew gives a safety briefing and hands out your mask, snorkel and fins. You swim over the reef at several stops, with lunch and soft drinks on board and marine fees already paid.
The captain decides each stop by the sea and weather, and may change the plan for safety. Fish sightings are common, but wildlife is never guaranteed. You are dropped back at your hotel for the evening.
- 3
Today you try diving. A minibus collects you from your hotel and you spend about seven hours on a dive boat shared with other guests. A certified instructor takes you down for two guided intro dives, with all the scuba equipment supplied. No experience is needed, but you fill in a medical questionnaire first, and the operator can turn away guests with some conditions.
An intro dive is a taster, not a certification course. Lunch, soft drinks and water are served on board, and marine park fees are included. The boat may change plans if the sea is rough.
- 4
A vehicle collects you from your hotel for a boat day around Tiran Island, in the strait between Sinai and Saudi Arabia. You share the boat with other guests and spend about eight hours at sea. A snorkeling guide leads you into the water at the reef stops, and you use the mask, snorkel and fins we provide. Lunch, soft drinks and water are served on board, and marine park fees are paid.
As always, the captain may alter or cancel the sailing if wind or waves make it unsafe, and fish and turtles are possible rather than certain.
- 5
This is the easy sea day. After a hotel pickup you board a semi-submarine for a trip of about 90 minutes, shared with other guests, and watch the reef through its windows below the waterline. A soft drink and water are served on board. The whole outing takes about three hours, so you are back at your hotel with most of the day left for the pool, the beach or an afternoon wander.
- 6
Your last full day is on land. A guide who speaks English joins an air-conditioned vehicle shared with other guests and takes you through the Old Market, to Al Sahaba Mosque and on to SOHO Square. The tour lasts about four hours, with bottled water provided. Wear clothes that cover your shoulders and knees if you want to see the mosque.
After the tour you are returned to your hotel, and the rest of the day is free for a final swim or some shopping.
- 7
After breakfast and check-out, a private vehicle takes you from your hotel to Sharm El Sheikh Airport, with help for your luggage. Your transfer is timed around your flight, so tell us your departure time and we will confirm the pick-up.

Field notes
From our Egyptologists
- 01
Wear a rash guard on the Ras Mohammed yacht day; the sun on open water burns quickly, even when there is a breeze.
- 02
Drink plenty of water and eat lightly before the intro dive day, and tell your instructor about any ear or sinus trouble first.
- 03
Take motion sickness tablets beforehand for the Tiran Island boat day if you are prone, as the strait can be choppy in wind.
- 04
Dress modestly at Al Sahaba Mosque with covered shoulders and knees, and bring a scarf if you plan to step inside.

Children & families
Children are welcome on the hotel nights, the city tour and the semi-submarine trip. On the sea days, children need to be comfortable on a boat and in the water, and the operator confirms age limits for each outing when you book. The two-dive intro scuba day has its own age and medical rules, which the dive operator confirms. Child prices depend on age and on the room used, so we give you the exact figure when you tell us the child's age.
Accessibility
Who can join this
The boat days involve stepping onto a yacht or dive boat from a jetty, moving about on deck and getting in and out of the water by ladder or platform. The sea can be rough, which makes the deck harder to cross. The semi-submarine ride is the gentlest outing, but it still has steps to board. Hotel pickups and the city tour use air-conditioned vehicles. We cannot promise wheelchair access at every jetty or boat, so tell us your needs when you book and we will say honestly which outings suit you.
– Responsible travel
How we travel here
Marine park fees are included in the boat days, and the dive and snorkeling outings follow the park rules on staying off the coral. Please use reef-safe sunscreen, never stand on or touch the reef, and do not feed the fish. The trip relies on road transfers, boats and the semi-submarine, so we do not claim a carbon saving. We use local operators in Sharm El Sheikh, so your spending stays in the town.

Asked & answered
Frequent questions
01Is any day a full day of sightseeing?
No. Every day after arrival is one excursion, and the rest of the day is free. Days 2, 3 and 4 are the longest, at about seven to eight hours each. Days 5 and 6 are short, at about three and four hours.02Do I need to be able to snorkel or dive already?
No. Beginners are welcome. The snorkeling days need only basic swimming, and the crew gives a safety briefing and the gear. The dive day is led by a certified instructor and no experience is needed.03Is the intro dive a diving certification?
No. It is a guided taster with an instructor, not a PADI or other certification course. You complete a medical questionnaire first, and the operator can decline guests with some conditions, such as heart problems, asthma, ear problems or pregnancy. The operator confirms age limits when you book.04Will we see dolphins or turtles?
Possibly, but never for certain. These are wild animals, and we cannot promise a sighting. You will see reef fish on the snorkeling and dive outings.05What if the sea is rough?
The boat captain can change the route or cancel a sailing for safety, and the sailing runs only as weather and sea conditions allow. If that happens we tell you and offer the nearest alternative. Any refund follows our cancellation and refund policy.06Is snorkeling gear included?
Yes, on the Ras Mohammed yacht day you get a mask, snorkel and fins, and on the Tiran Island day the mask, snorkel and fins are provided too. The dive day includes full scuba equipment.07Which hotel will we stay in?
You choose a standard when you book, from budget to luxury, and we name the hotel for your dates. The excursions are the same at every standard.08Are international flights included?
No. The tour starts with your private pick-up at Sharm El Sheikh Airport and ends with your private transfer back to it. International flights, the visa and tips are not included.09Will I make my international flight?
If you fly into and out of Sharm El Sheikh directly, the tour ends with a transfer timed around your flight, so there is little risk. If you connect through Cairo, your two tickets are usually separate bookings, and a late first flight can cost you the connection. In that case we prefer you to allow a night in Cairo or choose a late-evening or night international flight. Please take travel insurance that covers missed connections.
