A vehicle takes you to the dive center at 08:00, where you complete paperwork and a medical self-declaration and are fitted with equipment. On the boat an instructor briefs you on breathing, equalizing and hand signals. You then make two guided dives, the first to about 6 meters and the second to at most 12, with one instructor for at most two guests. Lunch is on board, and snorkeling is possible between dives. The minimum age is 10.

Detailed itinerary
- 1
A vehicle collects you at 08:00 from hotels in Hurghada, El Gouna, Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh and Soma Bay and takes you to the dive center. Other guests join along the way. Eat a light breakfast, but not a heavy one, because you will be on a boat for most of the day.
- 2
At the dive center you fill in the paperwork and a medical self-declaration. Answer it honestly, because some conditions mean you cannot dive. Staff then fit your mask, fins and the rest of the scuba equipment, which is included. Bring your hotel name and room number.
- 3
The dive boat leaves the marina at about 09:15 and sails to the first reef. The crew shows you where to store belongings and gives a boat safety talk. If you get seasick, tell the crew and sit near the back, where the movement is smaller.
- 4
At around 10:15 the instructor explains how scuba works, how to breathe through the regulator, how to equalize the pressure in your ears and the hand signals used underwater. You practice a few skills before you go in. Ask any questions now, since you cannot talk underwater.
- 5
At about 10:45 you make your first dive with one instructor for at most two guests. The depth is about 6 meters. You stay close to the instructor, who holds your equipment if needed. You see coral and reef fish in shallow water. The dive lasts about 30 to 40 minutes.
- 6
At about 12:30 the crew serves lunch on the boat, with soft drinks and water. Rest, eat and drink water, because diving is tiring and dehydrating. Tell us about allergies or dietary needs when you send your request. Snorkeling is possible between dives if you want to stay in the water.
- 7
At about 13:45 the boat moves to another reef for the second dive, to at most 12 meters, again with one instructor for at most two guests. You will be more relaxed this time and can look around more. The instructor sets the depth and the time, and you follow the signals.
- 8
The boat returns to the marina at about 15:30. The vehicle takes you back to your hotel. Do not fly for 24 hours after diving, so keep this in mind before your flight home. Rinse off salt water, drink plenty, and rest, because diving makes most people tired.

Asked & answered
Frequent questions
01How does the price work for the intro dive day?
The price is per person for a shared dive boat of up to 20 guests. It covers two guided dives, full equipment, lunch, marine park fees and transfers. Children under 2 travel free, ages 2 to 11 pay half and 12 and over pay the adult price, with a minimum age of 10. Prices are provisional until we confirm.02Do I need a license or experience?
No. This is an introductory dive for complete beginners. You get a briefing on breathing, equalizing and hand signals, and an instructor stays with you underwater, with one instructor for at most two guests. You do need to be a reasonable swimmer and comfortable in the sea.03How deep do we go?
The first dive goes to about 6 meters and the second to at most 12 meters. Both are shallow and guided, and the instructor controls the depth throughout. You stay close to the instructor and follow hand signals. If you feel uneasy at any time, signal and the instructor brings you up.04Who cannot dive?
The minimum age is 10. You complete a medical self-declaration at the dive center, and some conditions such as asthma, heart problems or recent ear infections can rule you out. If in doubt, ask a doctor beforehand. Do not dive if you have a cold. Do not fly for 24 hours after diving.05What if I have to cancel?
More than 72 hours ahead, keep 100% as credit toward future travel or take a 100% refund, less bank charges. Between 72 and 24 hours, keep 100% as credit or take a 50% refund. Within 24 hours, or if you don't show up, there is no refund or credit. If we have to cancel, you lose nothing.06Is the dive boat shared?
Yes. The boat carries up to 20 guests, with several instructors. Each instructor looks after at most two guests underwater. You travel, eat and rest on the boat with the other guests, and the groups dive on the same reefs but are guided separately.

HurghadaOrange Bay Snorkeling & Beach Escape – Giftun Island, Hurghada
A day trip from Hurghada to Giftun Island's Orange Bay for snorkeling, swimming, and relaxed beach time on the Red Sea. The boat ride to Orange Bay is approximately 40 minutes each way from Hurghada Marina. We arrange snorkel kit, life jackets, bottled water and a beach lunch; tell us in advance if you need child-size gear. Unlike shore snorkel sites, Giftun's reefs are reached by boat and typically have larger coral gardens and clearer visibility. We schedule morning snorkel slots to avoid the sunniest hours and reduce crowding at reef stops. Trade-offs: limited shade on the beach at midday, possible motion-sickness on choppy days, and higher visitor numbers in high season. Private-boat upgrades, early departures, or shaded-cabin requests are available on request. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and handle hotel pickup from Hurghada on request.
