This 4-day Aswan to Luxor cruise involves walking on uneven, ancient stone, compacted sand, and river quays with steps. Major sites visited, including Abu Simbel approach paths, Philae Temple, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings, have stairs, narrow ramps, and irregular surfaces; many tombs require steep descents. Cruise vessels have steps between decks and limited ramp access. Coaches and the main gangway are accessible to standard wheelchairs, but transferring on and off small launches or feluccas may require steps and a helping hand. Visitors should be able to walk about 300–500 metres, handle several flights of stairs, and stand during short guided periods. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and can arrange additional assistance on request. Please tell us about mobility needs, wheelchair dimensions, or medical equipment at least 14 days before travel so we can plan suitable vehicles and staff assistance. If you require powered wheelchair access or full step-free routing through all sites, please contact us; full accessibility cannot be guaranteed at some archaeological areas.

Minimum age for this cruise is 4 years. Child fares and reductions depend on cabin occupancy and the supplier's policy; typical discounts apply for children sharing a cabin with two adults. Infants under 2 may travel at a reduced rate but must be reported at booking. Strollers are practical on board and at larger quays, but they can be difficult to use at crowded temples and on uneven archaeological paths; a lightweight, foldable stroller is preferable. High chairs on board or at contracted restaurants are limited and must be requested at least 14 days in advance. How we travel here
We use modern, air-conditioned coaches for overland transfers and partner with locally owned Nile cruise boats and launch operators that follow national safety rules. Our Egyptologists, drivers and boat crews are locally employed and contracted directly, which keeps payments in the community. We ask partner boats to minimise single-use plastics: reusable water stations are encouraged on board, and single-use water bottles are provided only where refilling is not possible. Local restaurants and stall vendors visited are chosen for fair-trade pricing and direct payment to owners when possible. We measure fuel use by choosing the most direct coach transfers between sites to reduce unnecessary mileage. Unlike large mass-market coach tours, we limit the number of separate supplier handovers during the cruise to reduce duplication of transport and lower emissions related to staging. If you have specific sustainability preferences, tell us when you book and we will record them for our local suppliers.
