Asked & answered

Frequent questions

  1. 01 How do we travel from Cairo to Alexandria on this 2-night tour?
We transfer you by private, air-conditioned car between Cairo and Alexandria; the road journey typically takes 2.5–3 hours. We pick up from your Cairo hotel or Cairo Airport and drive the coastal/western route depending on traffic. Travel times vary by time of day; heavy traffic in Greater Cairo can add time, so we plan departures to avoid peak congestion where possible.
  2. 02 What sites in Alexandria and Wadi Natrun are included?
The itinerary covers Wadi Natrun, Pompey's Pillar, the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the Roman Museum. Exact ordering can change for logistics; we brief you on timings each morning. Our Egyptologist accompanies most site visits and highlights conservation facts and visiting restrictions at each location.
  3. 03 Are entrance fees and museum tickets included?
Standard site entrance fees and museum tickets are included in the tour price unless we state otherwise. Extras such as temporary special‑exhibition surcharges, photography permits, or private-access fees are charged separately. We list any known extras on your confirmation and confirm before you travel, since some museums run short-term exhibitions with separate tickets.
  4. 04 Is accommodation included for the 2 nights, and what hotels do you use?
Yes – two nights' accommodation in Alexandria is included, normally in centrally located hotels selected for location and service. We do not publish fixed hotel names here; we confirm the exact hotel on booking and can propose upgrades or alternative properties. During high season or local events the hotel may vary; if you have a specific hotel preference tell us early so we can check availability.
  5. 05 How much walking is involved and are the sites suitable for older guests?
Expect moderate walking, uneven ancient stone, stairs, and limited shade at several sites. The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa include steep steps and narrow passages that may be uncomfortable for anyone with limited mobility; Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Roman Museum are mostly level and easier to manage. We can adapt the itinerary, provide more vehicle transfers between sites, or suggest alternatives if mobility is a concern – tell us before booking so we can plan.
  6. 06 Can we customize the itinerary or add a private Egyptologist?
Yes – we can customize the two‑night program and provide one of our private Egyptologists for guided visits. Additional guide days or private‑guide time carry extra fees and depend on seasonal availability. Unlike standard day tours, a 2‑night arrangement gives genuine time at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Roman Museum rather than a rushed visit; tell us your priorities and we will send options and costs.
