About the Sleeper Train in Egypt

Egypt’s Watania Sleeper Train offers a unique way to travel between Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan while saving time and experiencing overnight rail travel. Each private cabin features bunk beds, fresh linens, a vanity mirror, and a sink. Dinner and breakfast are served directly to your cabin, and shared restrooms are located at the end of each carriage. It’s a comfortable and convenient option for those seeking both adventure and practicality on their Egyptian journey.

Booking & Confirmation

Confirmation will be received at time of booking.
A detailed itinerary including hotel names, sightseeing schedule, and transportation details will be provided after confirmation.
If included, sleeper train tickets and/or domestic flight schedules will be issued closer to your travel date.
For sleeper train bookings, passport information must be submitted in advance to confirm cabin reservations.
Please review your travel documents carefully upon receipt and notify us of any corrections before your arrival.

Sleeper Train Travel

When included, your tour features overnight travel aboard the Watania Sleeper Train.
Each private cabin includes two bunk-style beds, a private sink, bedding, and a vanity mirror.
Shared restrooms are located at the end of each carriage.
Dinner and breakfast are served directly to your cabin.
Sleeper train segments may be one-way, round-trip, or combined with a domestic flight depending on the itinerary.
If you prefer to replace the sleeper train with a flight or private transport, please let us know during booking.

Travel & Accessibility

Lightweight clothing, comfortable walking shoes, a sunhat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are highly recommended.
A light jacket is useful in winter months or for early morning tours.
Moderate walking is required at archaeological sites; some paths may include stairs or uneven ground.
Most sites and accommodations accessible, though some locations may have limited accessibility.
Travelers with mobility concerns should contact us in advance for support and customized options.

Accommodation & Meals

Rooms are based on double occupancy. Solo travelers must pay a single supplement.
Triple rooms include a foldaway or full extra bed depending on the hotel.
Children under 12 typically receive a foldaway bed; over 12s may require a separate room or a full extra bed.
If the itinerary includes a Nile Cruise, the number of hotel nights vs. cruise nights will be clearly outlined.
Daily breakfast is included. Additional meals are provided as per itinerary.
Vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary requests can often be accommodated with advance notice.
To change the board basis, please contact us in advance.

Transportation & Optional Activities

If domestic flights are included, they come with one checked bag (23kg) and one carry-on (8kg).
All ground transfers are in private, air-conditioned vehicles unless otherwise noted.
Optional experiences such as Abu Simbel by flight or hot air balloon rides can be added before or during the tour.
For custom requests or private transport upgrades, please reach out prior to arrival.

Pricing, Child Policy & Cancellation

Prices are quoted in USD per person, based on double occupancy.
Peak season surcharges apply during Christmas, New Year, and Easter.
Children under 2: free of charge (sharing bed with parents).
Ages 2–5.99: pay 25% of adult price; Ages 6–11.99: pay 50% when sharing with parents.
Children 12+: pay full adult price and may require their own room or extra bed.
