Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Discovery Tours Egypt, we understand that travel plans may change.

Our cancellation and refund policy is designed to protect both our guests and our partners while maintaining flexibility whenever possible.

1. General Cancellation Terms

All cancellation requests must be made in writing via email to

Refund amounts depend on the notice period prior to the scheduled arrival date, and are subject to extra deductions for non-refundable items (see below)

2. Non-Refundable Items

Certain items and services are non-refundable and non-transferable once booked or ticketed:

• Domestic flights and sleeper train tickets

  → These are non-refundable and non-transferable once issued.

  → The full ticketed cost will be deducted from any refund amount.

• Hotel reservations during peak periods (Christmas, New Year, Easter) may carry special cancellation terms imposed by the property.

  → These will be clearly stated at the time of booking.

• Third-party entrance tickets, event bookings, or optional add-ons are governed by supplier policies and may be non-refundable.

3. Administrative Fee

All approved refunds may be subject to a 5% administrative charge of the total invoice value.

This fee covers bank, transaction, and processing costs and applies to all refund cases, including partial cancellations.

4. Method of Refund

Refunds are processed through the original payment method only:

• For bank transfers (SWIFT): refunds are sent back to the sender’s account.

  → All intermediary bank fees are borne by the recipient.

• For card payments: refunds are processed via the same secure payment gateway, minus the 3% non-refundable card surcharge.

Refunds are processed within 14 days and in addition to that they typically take 10-15 business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer. Please allow upto 30 business days for all refunds to be completely processed by Discovery Tours, your band or card issuer.

5. Tour Amendments or Postponements

If you need to change or postpone your travel dates:

• Deposits may be transferred to new dates within 12 months of the original booking, subject to availability.

• Adjusted rates may apply if supplier prices have changed.

• Once domestic flight or train tickets have been issued, change fees will apply according to the airline or rail provider’s rules.

6. Cancellation by Discovery Tours Egypt

In the unlikely event that Discovery Tours Egypt must cancel a confirmed service due to operational or safety reasons, you will receive:

• A full refund of all payments received, or

• The option to reschedule or apply credit toward a future trip within 12 months.

We are committed to offering alternative solutions whenever possible.

7. Force Majeure

No refunds will be provided for cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our control, including (but not limited to):

natural disasters, political unrest, epidemics, flight cancellations, or government restrictions.

In such cases, Discovery Tours Egypt will do its best to reschedule or issue credit for future travel.

8. Refund Timelines

Approved refunds are processed promptly after written confirmation.

Please allow up to 30 working days for completion, depending on the payment channel and financial institution.
