Day 1: Cairo

Upon arrival to Cairo International Airport you will meet your tour leader inside the arrival area. Your tour leader will then assist you through the airport formalities (arrival procedures) and then accompany you on a private air conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Your tour leader will complete the check-in procedure with you and take a moment of your time to review your holiday itinerary.
Overnight: Cairo. Meals: Dinner included.

Day 2: Cairo - Pyramids, Sphinx, Egyptian Museum, Coptic & Islamic Cairo

After breakfast, your qualified Egyptologist will meet you at your hotel with a modern air conditioned vehicle. The Egyptologist will be guiding you throughout the duration of the trip today to some of the most amazing historical sites in Egypt. Enjoy the civilization of the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus of Giza which are erected on a rocky plateau on the west bank of the Nile River near Giza in Cairo. In ancient times they were included amongst the Seven Wonders of the World, Then proceed to visit the Great Sphinx, the head of pharaoh with a lion’s body, which dates from the time of Chephren, the tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple facing the great statue and then you will be transferred to enjoy the Egyptian Museum where you can see the collection of Tutankhamen amongst other splendid pharaonic artefacts which is said to exceed more than 120,000 items on display.

Day 3: Alexandria – Catacombs, Pompey’s Pillar, Alexandria Library

Today you will venture north and visit the famous city of Alexandria. Take an early start and enjoy your breakfast earlier than usual, then make your way to the reception are to meet your fully qualified Egyptologist at the pre-arranged time. The Egyptologist will accompany you to a modern air conditioned vehicle which will be with you all day, so if you would like to bring some water and snacks along, you are more than welcome. Our qualified Egyptologist will be guiding you throughout the duration of the tour today to some of the superb sites within one of the most amazing cities in Egypt. Enjoy visiting the Catacombs of Kum El Shukafa, is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the middle Ages, It was discovered in 1900 after they had been looking for it for about 12 years. Proceed to see Pompey’s Pillar, the largest of its type constructed outside of the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople. Move to visit the Alexandria Library, which contain copy of approximate every book published in the world. This makes the library one of the great literary sites in the world.

Day 4: Alexandria – Transfer to Cairo

Luckily it is not such an early start today, we believe that after such a busy few days it will be nice for you to enjoy a relaxed breakfast before making your way back to Cairo. During the course of the morning you will meet your Egyptologist at the time agreed and he will accompany you, on board a private air conditioned modern vehicle to Cairo. Upon arrival to your hotel the Egyptologist will depart and leave you to enjoy the rest of your day, in Cairo, at your leisure. There are a few optional add-on tours available for this day. Otherwise just relax in your hotel and enjoy the fabulous Egyptian weather.
Overnight: Cairo Hotel. Meals: Breakfast and dinner is included. Lunch is not included.

Day 5: Alexandria – Transfer to Cairo

Luckily it is not such an early start today, we believe that after such a busy few days it will be nice for you to enjoy a relaxed breakfast before making your way back to Cairo. FAQs

When and where does the tour start?
Day 1 of this tour is an arrivals day where you will be collected from Cairo International Airport, which gives you a chance to settle into your hotel and explore the city. The only planned activity for this day is an evening welcome meeting at 7pm, where you can get to know your guides and fellow travellers. Please be aware that the meeting point is subject to change until your final documents are released.
When and where does the tour end?
Your tour will conclude in Cairo on Day 5 of the trip. There are no activities planned for this day so you're free to depart at any time. Your transfer from the hotel to Cairo International Airport will be approximately 4 hours prior to your flight departure time.
Do you arrange airport transfers?
Airport transfers are included in the price of this tour.
What is the age range?
This tour has an age range of 12-70 years old, this means children under the age of 12 will not be eligible to participate in this tour. However, if you are over 70 years please contact us as you may be eligible to join the tour if you fill out Discovery Tours self-assessment form.
